WPT - World Poker Tour

WPT

The World Poker Tour, WPT, is a series of high stakes Texas Holdem tournaments featuring some of the world's best professional poker players. The WPT is televised weekly and was created by TV producer Steven Lipscomb, who is now the CEO of WPT Enterprises, WPTE, the company that controls the World Poker Tour.

WPT LogoNow in its sixth season, the show is co-hosted by WSOP winner Mike Sexton, and actor Vince Van Patten. Shana Hiatt was the show host for the first three seasons, followed by Courtney Friel for season four, Sabina Gadecki for season five and Layla Kavleigh for season six.

The WPT Season finale is the WPT World Championship held at Bellagio in April each year. The prize pool for this event is usually around $8-12,000,000.

WPT Player of the Year

Points are awarded for finishing at the top of each WPT tournament event. The player with the most points at the end of each season becomes the player of the year.
