Triple Draw Basics

Five Card Draw is usually the game that first introduces players to poker, often playing Five Card Draw at home.

The basic pattern of play (See diagram below):

Players to left of the Dealer, Dealer Button, post the big blind and small blind, forced bets by each player.

Each player is then dealt five cards face down.
A round of betting occurs starting with the player to the left of the Big-Blind.

Each player may discard and draw from 0 to 5 cards.
Another betting round occurs.

Each player may discard and draw from 0 to 5 cards.
Another betting round occurs.

Each player may discard and draw from 0 to 5 cards.
Another betting round occurs.

The "Showdown" occurs.

All players use their own cards to make the lowest five-card poker hand. The best hand possible is 2-3-4-5-7, Aces are high, and straights and flushes count.
